Mercedes Goes Invisible In Latest Ad Campaign

From bulky, gas guzzling and over sized vehicles to compact and environmentally friendly invisible fuel cell cars we sure have come a long way since the roaring twenties! I’m still waiting to see flying cars hit the mainstream market and become common but the latest ad campaign by Mercedes-Benz is quite clever and perhaps even more impressive and innovative.

What used to be considered for the longest time to be impossible and merely nothing more than science-fiction or something we could only see in movies using special effects is now becoming more a reality in this technologically advanced and digital world we live in. Aside from being one of the most clever ad campaigns I’ve ever seen, an invisible F-Cell Mercedes-Benz sure would make for a great getaway car! Alright, so you can’t go out and purchase an “invisible” model from any local car dealer, but the fact that it can be done is really awe-inspiring you have to admit!

To promote their new B-Class F-Cell vehicle, the first ever Zero Emission automobile available from Mercedes-Benz, Daimler got very creative and came up with the idea of going invisible. Check out our featured YouTube video of the day below to see for yourself!

Of course an “invisible car”, although a very cool publicity stunt, isn’t the main topic of discussion here. In order to provide you with a better understanding of what hydrogen F-Cell technology is and how it works, basically it is a vehicle which runs on converted hydrogen that is compressed. Thus, no nonrenewable fuel is used and the result is absolutely zero emissions that are harmful to our planet and environment. The only emissions that come from the Mercedes-Benz B-Class vehicle is water vapor. This makes it far more environmentally friendly than diesel fueled, gasoline, hybrid and believe it or not even electric powered vehicles. This newest F-Cell powered car also gets close to 90 mpg and highly reduces cost for the owner among many other benefits.

Mercedes might make it look easy, but this technology is the result of decades of R&D, testing and innovation. You may not be aware of this but here’s a fun fact, the NECAR which was built and designed by Mercedes as an experiment almost 2 decades ago was the world’s first ever fuel cell vehicle. Daimler now has the world’s largest line of F-Cell powered vehicles in production.

A funny new Danica Patrick parody song and video has surfaced on YouTube called “Driving in the Deep” which is played to the tune of the original hit song “Rolling in the Deep” by 8 time Grammy award winner Adele. This new song was inspired by a horrifying car crash involving Danica Patrick which occurred only a couple of days ago. It sure didn’t take long for this parody video to surface. Of course the song is only considered to be funny since Patrick was luckily not injured.

Gorgeous model and famous celebrity Danica Patrick recently totaled her GoDaddy stock car after crashing into a wall during a final lap going 200 mph at the Daytona International Speedway. Such an incident is no laughing matter of course, however you have to admit the following parody video is in fact quite hilarious.

Metropolis II The Movie by Chris Burden

Chris Burden is one of the most well known artists of all time and has a reputation for taking his art to the extreme. His latest project, the Metropolis II kinetic sculpture, is no exception. It took Chris a total of 4 years to muster up and complete this project and it certainly shows.

This popular YouTube video will almost leave you speechless, it’s just that amazing. It’s a sneak peak documentary video of Chris Burden’s Metropolis II creation before it gets moved to the Los Angeles Country Museum of Art (LACMA) in the fall of 2011. The video is directed by Ariel and Joost Schulman who had the fortunate honor of spending 3 days at Chris’s studio to see the sculpture up close and personal. I’m sure it’s an experience they won’t soon forget.

Rockstar Parking Hilarious Video

Well it’s Friday so how about some humor to kick start the weekend? Friday just wouldn’t be complete without some leaping cars in the mix. Ok, great, glad we’re in agreement with that. Today’s daily video is one that has gone viral and I’m sure you’ll find it quite amusing. In less than 72 hours this video has had nearly 1.4 million views, not too shabby.

I doubt this rockstar parking job was planned, but still impressive, sort of. It also begs the question, is this what they’re teaching kids in drivers ed classes these days? It’s either the best or worst parking job of all time, watch the video and you be the judge of that! Oh and just for the record this is not a sneak peak at the next Mission Impossible movie!

While scanning through some of today’s popular YouTube videos we came across this brand new Sir Mix-A-Lot release called Carz. It’s one of the tracks from his latest album Dun 4got About Mix.

If you like rap music and exotic cars then you’ll really enjoy this video. It premiered on YouTube less than 24 hours ago and has already exceeded 118k views! Not too shabby. Sir Mix-A-Lot has returned, releasing his first new album since 2003.

Peugeot RCZ Review Video

The staff at Auto Express get behind the wheel of the stylish Peugeot RCZ sports coupe in this review video. Overall it’s quite an impressive vehicle. It comes equipped with ESP stability control which can be turned on or off instantly by the driver.

The Peugeot RCZ is bundled with a 1.6L turbo engine and can reach speeds of up to 133MPH. There are two models available, the standard 156HP and 200HP upgraded model. The standard model reaches 0-60 in 8.3 seconds.

There are a couple of setbacks such as a rather large steering wheel and seating in the back is a bit tight. Fortunately the option for a smaller steering wheel is also available.

Some people are comparing this sports car to a more affordable Audi TT type vehicle. You be the judge, check out the video below.
